Large U.S. County Organization
In one of the largest counties in the U.S., CIBER's work to get a foundational SharePoint 2010 implementation done represents a forward-thinking shift for the organization. Like many state or local government organizations, this county was influenced by elected officials who had recently taken innovative steps with information technology to promote efficiency and communication.
With the initial SharePoint 2010 implementation serving as a test for future rollouts, it is becoming evident that the county should align with the collaboration feature set that SharePoint 2010 provides and that county extensions have begun to see success with. Better collaboration is part of an overall County effort to get agencies working together more cohesively and set an example for modern processes and productivity. Efficient operational shifts like these can set the stage for state and local governments looking to consolidate and share services for better use of shrinking budgets.
Texas Hospital Walks the Talk with Improved Collaboration
CIBER is helping a Texas Hospital client with their goal to redefine public health care. CIBER worked to evaluate their current environment and found that it was not user-friendly and was very limited in capabilities. CIBER's risk assessment pointed toward SharePoint 2010 as the right environment to move to for improved usability and a better taxonomy for improved collaboration.
The hospital selected CIBER for the SharePoint 2010 project to create a basis for a new intranet collaboration effort. One example of improved functions and features in the new enterprise environment is an IT Self Service portal that gives employees online access to request IT support from a self-service portal with clear processes and timely responses.
Energy Infrastructure Organization
CIBER is working with an Energy Infrastructure engineering organization in the Midwest that owns the power transmission lines and substations that transmit power from large utilities to the local grid. CIBER has assessed the organization's current SharePoint 2007 environment and provided education on SharePoint 2010 capabilities reviewed against their collaboration vision and strategy.
